STARTUP CAREER FAIR

Our Startup career fair is an annual event, giving early-stage companies the chance to connect with our talented students. Many of the participants need to hire interns and full-time employees but do not have the brand recognition that would attract attention at a traditional career fair. We purposely limit the number and types of companies who are eligible to participate to better serve them and our students.

Unlike traditional career fairs, a startup career fair offers attendees the opportunity to engage directly with founders and early-stage team members, gaining insight into the entrepreneurial environment and the potential for rapid career growth. Participants can explore various roles, including internships, full-time positions, or co-founder opportunities, while startups gain access to a pool of highly motivated and entrepreneurial-minded students.

Research Participating Companies

Identify your top choices and learn about the opportunities they offer. Review their websites, read recent news, and prepare thoughtful questions to ask during the fair.

Perfect Your Elevator Pitch

Craft a pitch that connects your values, skills, and experiences to the company’s mission or a specific position. Be ready to discuss your past achievements and how they relate to the job’s responsibilities. Learn more about developing your pitch here https://careernetwork.msu.edu/resources/elevator-pitch/.

To ensure you're prepared, we recommend bringing a padfolio and pen for taking notes, copies of your resume, a portfolio if applicable, and prepared questions for each startup you intend to meet with.

Pay-By-Plate parking is available at Ramp #1 (Shaw Lane) and Ramp #3 (Wharton Parking Ramp). Parking rate is $2.00 per hour.*
