Dave Zilko has been a food entrepreneur for over 25 years, most prominently at Metro Detroit-based Garden Fresh Gourmet, where from 2002 thru 2015 Dave served as Vice Chairman, primarily responsible for strategy and sales. He succeeded in taking the company from $4.6 million in annual revenue to just over $110 million prior to engineering a sale to the Campbell’s Soup Company for close to a quarter billion dollars. From his Garden Fresh experience, Dave wrote the book, “Irrational Persistence; Seven Secrets That Turned A Bankrupt Startup Into A $231,000,000 Business.” Dave currently serves as CEO of FUEL Leadership, an emerging video-centric digital media property that operates in the professional development space, targeting aspiring millennial professionals. Dave is on the executive board of Forgotten Harvest, the largest food rescue operation in the United States, serves on the advisory board of Jimmy Buffett’s charitable trust, Singing for Change, and was appointed by Michigan Governor Snyder to the Grow Michigan board, which provides mezzanine financing to emerging companies. He holds a bachelor degree in finance from Michigan State University and an MBA in Marketing from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
