Student Success & Advising Manager

Desireé is our Student Success & Advising Manager. Passionate about empowering people to live their best lives, she helps students set and reach academic and career goals. She builds partnerships across campus with programs and advisors. Additionally, Desireé teaches a freshman seminar, “A Sprint Through the Entrepreneurial Mindset.”

Desireé earned both her degrees from MSU: A Bachelor of Fine Art in Graphic Design & Photography and a Master’s in Higher, Adult, & Lifelong Education. She also earned a Graduate Certification in Teaching & Learning. During undergrad, she spent half a year studying and traveling in Italy, gaining a deep understanding of culture and art abroad. Before joining the Burgess Institute, Desireé spent 4 years with MSU Undergraduate Entrepreneurship & Innovation. Previous to that, she provided student mentorship services and coordinated undergraduate outreach and engagement within the MSU Neighborhoods.

Alongside her role, Desireé is a staff advisor to MSU’s Future Leaders in Sports & Entertainment (FLISE). FLISE is a student organization focused on career development, connecting students to professionals in the sports and entertainment industries. She is also the sponsorship chair for empowHER, a non-profit focused on inspiring confidence, resiliency, and community in 4th–9th-grade girls.
