The Burgess Institute annually engages nearly one hundred alumni and friends to volunteer their time as a mentor, speaker, guest lecturer, and more.
Since 2016, more than 2,500 Spartan entrepreneurs have ventured with the Burgess Institute, creating 800+ startups and raising more than $160M to fund their ventures.
The Advisory Council is a sounding board for the Institute’s leadership, ensuring the Institute’s programs are responsive to the needs of our students and the market and reflect leading thinking and best practices for university entrepreneurship education programs.
From a pilot program of five alumni, our Entrepreneurs-in-Residence program has become a signature volunteer opportunity for the Institute. With more than 20 Spartans & friends from across the county, EIRs volunteer their time and expertise to mentor select student teams in the Institute’s Venture Creation program for up to two years.
