Dr. Lillian R. Brooks is an Academic Specialist-Advisor for Undergraduate Student Services in the Eli Broad College of Business and serves as the advisor for the Minor in Entrepreneurship & Innovation.
Brooks earned her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Michigan State University. Her research involved studies on student transitions to college, as well as institutional practices that facilitate academic success. Prior to her position in the Broad College of Business, Brooks held administrative positions at Western Michigan University and Michigan State University, managing academic programs, advising, and mentoring students.
Brooks has served as the president of the Central Florida Chapter of the National Black MBA Association, as a marketing specialist for the Central Florida African American Chamber of Commerce, and as a diversity consultant for the Downtown Orlando Marketing Association. She was a guest service manager for the Walt Disney World company where she completed the Management Core program and DEI training at Disney University. During her tenure at WDW, she earned several awards for successful location management and employee recruitment, was nominated for Partners in Excellence, and served as a mentor to college program participants.
Brooks also has an MBA with a focus on marketing from University of Detroit Mercy and earned a BS in marketing and international management from Georgetown University.
