Through a blend of coursework and real-world experiences, the minor emphasizes both the entrepreneurial mindset and the process for launching and growing a startup.

Building the Entrepreneurial Mindset

This 15-credit minor is open to all undergraduate majors at MSU and is customizable with flexible electives, as well as two required high-impact experiences that connect classroom concepts with hands-on learning. 

By graduation, students will gain a clear understanding of entrepreneurship and innovation, the confidence to pursue it as a career path and apply entrepreneurial thinking to launch ventures, lead teams, or drive change in any field.

Students are required to complete two high-impact experiences as part of the Minor in Entrepreneurship & Innovation. Before beginning an experience, students must self-enroll in the Entrepreneurship & Innovation Experiences course in D2L. D2L is used to manage experience requirements, including accessing experience information, completing required checklists, and submitting documentation.

For each experience, students must complete all required steps outlined in D2L, which may include confirmation of participation, reflections, and other supporting materials. Experiences are considered complete only after all required materials have been submitted and approved in D2L.
